When someone searches for a holiday rental photographer in Fuengirola, they usually no longer need a general explanation of why strong images matter. They need to know whether the photographer understands this type of accommodation, which parts of the property will be covered and whether the final material will work across Airbnb, Booking, a direct website and social media.
A useful shoot is not about collecting a large number of attractive photographs. It should create a clear, reusable image library that explains the accommodation, answers questions before booking and keeps the presentation consistent across channels. I work with owners, managers and agencies to plan this material without inventing features or making rooms appear larger than they are.
The brief starts with the guest and the sales channel
Before photographing the property, it helps to define who the accommodation is for. A family apartment near the beach, a home designed for longer stays and a couples’ retreat should not be presented in exactly the same way. The selection also changes when a listing is used on one booking platform or when a business needs content for its own website and campaigns.
This information establishes priorities. A dining terrace, workspace, communal pool or layout that works well for several guests may all be valuable, but they do not carry equal weight for every audience. The photography should help the right guest recognise the genuine offer quickly.
What a professional holiday-rental shoot should include
The interior remains the foundation. The living room, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms should create an easy-to-understand journey. The shoot then adds the features that affect the stay and genuinely belong to the property or residential development.
- A clear lead image: the room or feature that best summarises the accommodation.
- Connections between rooms: photographs that explain the layout without repeating one angle.
- Relevant facilities: dining, workspace, storage, kitchen and other details that help guests plan their stay.
- Terraces and outdoor areas: when they are part of the experience and available to guests.
- Communal facilities: pool, gardens or development access when permission is available and the areas are prepared.
- Additional formats: selected vertical compositions for social media or campaigns when required.
I do not include a photograph simply to increase the file count. Every image should add new information or perform a clear commercial role.
Airbnb, Booking and a direct website use content differently
Booking platforms display galleries, crop cover images and structure information in different ways. A direct website can devote more space to the accommodation’s story, while a social campaign needs to communicate one advantage within seconds. I therefore plan the shoot as a content library rather than one fixed sequence.
The main selection can focus on the spaces that most influence a booking. Additional photographs can answer questions, document equipment or support updates during the season. When vertical formats are needed, it is better to compose them during the shoot than crop a horizontal photograph until the important feature disappears.
Basic preparation protects valuable shooting time
The apartment does not need to become a film set. It should, however, be clean, organised and prepared exactly as a guest will receive it. Before I arrive, I recommend checking textiles, bulbs, curtains, surfaces, cleaning products, cables and personal items. A dining table can be presented simply when that helps explain its use, without filling every room with artificial decoration.
Access should also be planned. If the pool, gardens or communal areas are part of the brief, I need to know their opening hours and any restrictions. Keys, parking and the on-site contact should be confirmed. These details may appear minor, but they let us spend the session creating material rather than resolving access problems.
A real furnished accommodation project in Fuengirola
At this furnished apartment I photographed in Fuengirola, the presentation was built around visual order. The living and dining area show a prepared, easy-to-read daytime space; the open kitchen connects with the terrace; the bedroom maintains a calm appearance and the communal pool completes the residential context.
The aim was not to turn the apartment into something it is not, but to document why it could feel comfortable for a stay. I used one of these real photographs as the image for this article. The exact address and private client details are not published.
What the client receives and how the material can be reused
Before the shoot, we agree on the main uses so the delivery fits the owner’s or manager’s actual work. A strong collection can refresh the listing, support a website, answer enquiries and maintain consistent visual communication. When a project needs photography, video or vertical content, each format is planned for a different role.
The delivery should not force the client to guess which image to use. A clean selection, properly prepared files and understandable names make publishing easier. Photography cannot replace pricing, reviews, location or good management, and I do not claim that it can. Its role is to present the accommodation clearly so those genuine advantages earn attention.
What I need to prepare a quote
To assess a shoot, I need the approximate Fuengirola location, accommodation size, number of rooms, whether it has a terrace or communal facilities, and the platforms where the material will be used. It also helps to know whether the property is ready, whether access is restricted and if video, drone coverage or vertical formats are required.
If you are still comparing options, read my general guide to the images an Airbnb listing needs. To arrange a specific shoot, visit my property photography service in Fuengirola, review guide prices or send me the accommodation details to request availability and a quote.
